Founded in 2018 by Matt Sloan, The Wild Susan Company began with a simple idea: create consciously sourced, beautifully crafted candles that are accessible for everyday use.
What started as a response to the high cost of quality soy candles has grown into a thoughtfully developed brand rooted in creativity, sustainability, and care—hand-poured right here in Austin, Texas.

At the heart of The Wild Susan Company is a unique approach to craftsmanship—one that treats scent as an art form. Matt works within the powerful sense of smell to create fragrances that evoke memory, emotion, and atmosphere in a way few other mediums can.
Each candle is intentionally designed, pairing carefully developed scents with complementary colors to create a full sensory experience.
More than just a product, each piece reflects a commitment to clean ingredients and consciously sourced materials—ensuring that what fills your space is as thoughtful as it is beautiful.
Every product is made using natural soy wax, metal-free cotton wicks, and phthalate-free fragrance oils and dyes—along with thoughtfully sourced materials free from parabens, formaldehydes, and sulfates. It’s all part of their commitment to creating products that feel as good in your home as they do on your shelf.
Their approach to fragrance is just as intentional. Rather than relying solely on essential oils—which tend to burn off quickly—The Wild Susan Company uses expertly balanced fragrance blends that ensure a consistent scent from first light to final burn. Each batch is fully infused, not surface-layered, so the experience lasts.

There’s actually no one named Susan behind The Wild Susan Company—and that’s part of the charm. The name was born from a lively dinner with friends and a memorable moment involving a lazy Susan at the center of the table. As they’ll tell you, we’re all a little bit of a Wild Susan in our own right—and they’re always happy to share the full story.
